Some useful maintenance tips and good habits to follow:

  • in the first 3 months, turn it (head / feet and up / down) at least once a week, to allow a balanced adjustment of the soft parts;
  • expose it to the fresh air, leaving it uncovered for about ten minutes a day (or, when changing sheets), so as to effectively prevent stagnation of humidity and / or bad smells; better if done during sunny days, as the ultraviolet rays sanitize and disinfect effectively;
  • do not let anyone jump on it, as it could cause damage to the inner layers;
  • place it on a support (net or sommier) that is adequate, uniform and capable of guaranteeing the necessary ventilation; it must be elastic, but not too soft, and have the same dimensions and never smaller than the mattress itself;
  • do not use the carpet beater, rather brush it gently with low-power vacuum cleaners;
  • protect it from dust and/or stains, using sponge or cotton covers, easily washable with water;
  • never wet the mattress, or clean it with manual washing or steamed appliances, as this would create a condition of humidity in the internal layers, giving rise to a colonization mites and/or to processes of deterioration/rot;
  • avoid rolling or folding it, as this would damage its internal structure;
  • wash sheets and pillowcases weekly, in water above 60/70 ° (preferably at 90°), adding a little baking soda to the normal detergent; viruses and pathogenic microorganisms, in fact, cannot withstand high temperatures, nor soaps;
  • do not use an iron or hairdryer to dry the outer fabric of any stains;
  • use the handles only to position the mattress on the support base and not for movement (which must only take place if the mattress is complete, that is, the core is enclosed by the cover);
  • periodically check the condition of the staves in the most stressed areas.
